Australians have always been
great innovators. We'd had to adapt to a harsh climate, isolation and
a country like none other on earth.
How much do you know about
our great Aussie inventions?
- Divide the class into teams of four or five. If possible arrange
the desks into groups. It can be fun to encourage each team to develop
a team name.
- Give each team three pieces of paper on which to write their answers
to each round of questions.
- Read out each round of questions, one round at a time. Get students
to listen to each question, and write down their answers.
- Encourage a feeling of conspiracy and competition between teams.
At the end of each round get each team to deliver their answers to
the front of the room. Proceed with Round Two whilst someone is marking
their answers, or give them a related challenge to work on whilst
you mark their answers.
- Write up team scores on the board after each round.
- Bonus points can be awarded for creativity. Another fun thing to
do is to have team competitions between rounds.
