The hot topic of the week is:

Super Science

With the release of Hancock, the latest Will Smith movie in cinemas this week, we see yet another superhero on our movie screens. The Incredible Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, the list goes on. These films are fictional, but these abilities may not be as science is finding ways to give us all superpowers.

You could wear carbon nanotube gloves. that help you climb walls like Spider-man or strap on a personal jet like fusion-man. and go flying through the air at 290 kilometres an hour!

Got a nasty cut or injury? No problem, just dab a little extra cellular matrix. on it and turn yourself into Wolverine (but with better hair).

Want psychic powers? The Braingate. may be the next best thing as it allows you to interact with electronic devices using just the power of your mind.

How about your very own super suit? The US military research organization DARPA is researching ways to give its soldiers increased strength, but their projects are not finished yet (and I don't think they'll share). If you really want a super suit, try getting yourself a Hybrid Assistive Limb or HAL suit. With it's augmentation you can lift up to five times your normal strength!

Check out our poll and tell us what super power you want from science!
