Many young people have made a smart move into careers and businesses in cutting edge science, engineering and technology.

Find out what it's really like and how they came to make such a smart move. There are interviews with each of these people, and you can catch a glimpse of where they work and what they do.

Each Smart Mover has two or three movies and a QuickTime VR panorama of their workplace. The movies run for about 3 minutes each.

	Dean Mundy	Dean is a founder of Spun Sports, and designed and now makes the world's first twin tailed surfboards.
	Rebecca Hack	Rebecca is an award winning science teacher from Central Queensland - with lots of great ideas.
	Sam Fox	Sam Fox is a Zoology PhD student at James Cook University in Townsville. Sam is researching flying foxes.

Tasmania

	Rachelle Hawkins	Rachelle has applied her knowledge of aquaculture to give birth to a new industry - seahorse farming.
	San Lau	San has won awards for her independent research projects - about eucalypt wool dyes, tadpoles and creek ecology.

Victoria

	Craig Bullen	Quantum Dots. Tiny particles with beautiful properties, that will be used in medical and other research.
	Dr Bryan Fry	Dr Bryan Fry, aka VenomDoc, is the Deputy Director of the Australian Venom Research Unit at the Melbourne Uni. He's been fascinated by venomous snakes since he was a kid, and has certainly carried on with his passion.
	Jon Spring	Jon co-founded CEOS with two other engineers in 1994. The communications company has grown at 100% per year.
	Mirjana Prica	Mirjana emigrated to Australia when she was a little girl. She now works with Food Science Australia's Electronic Nose.
	Russell McInnes	Russell was born on Bougainville Is. Now he is using the lignin genes in plants to help turf grow up big and strong!
	Shane Huntington	An interest in stars turned Shane onto fibre optics. Now the sky's the limit. You can catch him on 3RRR FM.

South Australia

	Adam Fletcher	Adam advises industry about the importance of fatigue management - for pilots, train drivers, mining workers...
	Katie Webster	Katie founded Adelaide-based EcoResearch - an environmental research consultancy - with a former CSIRO colleague.
	Nicole Sharpe	Nicole is 13 and holds a patent for her idea about a new way to wire houses to save electricity.
	Pina Dall'Armi Stoks	Pina works in DSTO's Electronic Warfare Division, helping the Australian Army to make better battlefield decisions.
	Taher Omari	Taher has developed a device that measures reflux in very small infants born from 25 weeks gestation onwards.

Western Australia

	Cath Wilcox	Cath Wilcox is the founder of Wine for Dudes, where she runs fun and educational tours to Margaret River wineries. Cath grew up around the wine industry, and her guests even get to blend their own wine!
	Christie Cruikshank	Christie has worked in marine ecotourism on WA's Rottnest Island, Ningaloo Reef (near Northwest Cape) and now at Willie Creek Pearls in Broome. and Christie is pretty happy to have escaped Perth's cold & wet winters!
	Jason LeCoultre & Jerome Bowen	Jerome and Jason are uni students in Perth. They own a company called LeMobo and they created the patented JayJay Valve to save water on farms. The guys really got started when they won $20 000 in the Nescafé Big Break.
