Questacon Smart Moves

Invention Convention

As with all good innovations, the Questacon Smart Moves Invention Convention will take on some changes in 2012. After some testing and reflecting we are going to refine the program and bring it to you!

The Invention Convention will continue to inspire young Australians to develop innovative ideas and explore the innovation process. This dynamic hands-on, non-residential workshop style program will run for three-days. The Invention Convention will tour Australia during the school holidays, bringing cool new technologies for you to use as you follow the innovation process through.

To secure your spot at the Invention Convention you have to submit a registration form. (A registration fee of $30 will apply). Up to 30 places are available and attendance on all three days is essential. Students attending this program will follow the innovation process and gain hands-on skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Innovative thinking (Developing):
    • inspiration for ideas; problem solving; goal setting.
  • Design thinking (Producing):
    • following a process; importance of prototyping; ecological footprint.
  • Implementing ideas (Applying):
    • test, reflect, refine; effective communication.
  • Do you have a bright idea?
  • Do you want to know how to turn your ideas into reality?
  • Do you want to meet new people and learn practical skills that can help you change the world around you?

Well then Questacon Smart Moves Invention Convention is the place for you!

The three-day program will showcase successful Australian innovators and entrepreneurs and will include workshops for you to develop your own ideas with other like-minded secondary school students.

The next Questacon Smart Moves Invention Convention will be held in April 2012 in the South-East NSW region during the school holidays. For more information contact us.
