What do you need?

  • A problem — and a unique way of solving the problem.
  • A lot of determination and belief in your idea.
  • Some emotional support from your friends, your family, your teacher or the support of a mentor who has a lot of experience and knowledge and is prepared to help you out.
  • Some financial support from your family or people (venture capitalists) who believe in your idea and will help you out with some cash to get started. There are a number of Australian web sites that can introduce you to venture capitalists.

Hunting for that great idea…

Finding that great idea can sometimes be as simple as thinking of something you love, and then thinking of something that would make it even better.

  • Write down your hobbies, skills, passions.
  • Write down your skills, things you’re good at.
  • Write down a list

and then…

  • Talk to your friends.
  • Go to trade shows.
  • Search for opportunities.
  • Keep an eye on the latest trends.
  • Write down your goals.
  • Research your industry.
  • Talk to people in your field.
  • Keep focused, and don’t give up!
